Home.

22 flights, 14 cities, 11 weeks.
Fun? Of course. Exhausting? Absolutely.

Friday night, I anxiously awaited the call. Wishing that I was in the same city, able to celebrate with him, but I knew he'd be home soon enough. Kyle flew back on Saturday and we couldn't stop smiling! All weekend long. So relieved, so happy. He is finally, finally, finished with his residency interviews!!

Just the thought of being in our home for more than three days puts a smile on our faces. We couldn't be more relieved and thankful for this part of the process to be over. Sometimes it felt like this day would never come. Crazy would be an understatement to describe the past three months in our home. Living out of a suitcase, coming home just long enough to do laundry, switch suits and head out the door again. Juggling interviews, school, work, and the holidays for 11 weeks became exhausting for both of us.
It seemed that each additional school added a new element to consider and different aspects to discuss. The majority of our conversations had to do with travel arrangements or another program or city to think about. It's like a roller coaster of "maybe and what if's" that never ends.
Thankfully, there is an end in sight... an exciting one!!

Now, as we prayerfully consider all the incredible options and tackle the tough questions of the next step in our lives, we get to do it while snuggling on our couch, while walking Maizy, sleeping in our own bed, and eating home cooked meals. At home, together.

Such a great hurdle lept! We are happy for both of you! Home is a wonderful place, especially when you can be there together, all three of you.
Love, Aunt Carole
