Ann Arbor Newborn Session: Alexander Joseph

Alexander Joseph was born on September 21st, just two short weeks ago tomorrow.
No surprise, Andy and Anna are still glowing! Weighing in at 5 lb 15 oz, little Alexander was a little peanut. Looking through these pictures compared to in person, already looks different from the day he was born. Time has already gone too fast.

I was able to go up to the hospital just a few short hours after delivery to take a few photographs of them just being with their new addition. A few days later, I photographed the new family of three in their cozy home. Nothing out of the ordinary, no staged poses, props or setups, just hanging out as they get accustomed to caring for this sweet little boy.

A few days later, I visited Alexander at his new home (and he was mighty excited about it!!)
The thing about newborns is they are incredibly unpredictable; some like to be naked, some love to be swaddled, some don't sleep and some sleep constantly. It's part of the challenge and fun of photographing new babies- you never know what you're going to get!
As for little Alexander, he LOVES just being held, swaddled and cuddled with. As long as that happens, this little boy is one happy camper.

Welcome to the world, Alexander!

What wonderful photos. I got this link thru a Facebook post from a friend who just happens to be this little guy's grandmother. So neat to be able to capture a new family's beginnings. Thanks for using your gift to memorialize this wonderful start.
