This year’s Fall Mini Day was more like a marathon….on a rainy day! BUT, even with 11 sessions back to back, chilly breeze, rain and a little wind, the day was AMAZING! I had so much fun meeting new families and getting to see returning ones again. Everyone made the best of the less than ideal weather, and were complete CHAMPS! CHAMPPPSSS!! I can’t wait to share all of the images with the families (which should arrive in inboxes later today!!!), until then….here are just a few.
Happy Thursday!! If you're not following along on Instagram, join me! You may have seen some behind- the-scenes from this shoot this week. (Also, I recently moved all my business ‘gram to my personal…so enjoy seeing pictures of our children, behind-the-scenes life, the good and bad ;)
Rebecca and I met when we moved this past summer. Her mother is our neighbor, and has become a great friend. Rebecca and Justin often come over and we’ve gotten to know them over the past few months. They are expecting their first child in TWO weeks (I know, she is rocking pregnancy, look at her!!). Her childhood home has this magnificent oak tree that stands in the front yard. It overshadows half of the yard, and is simply breathtaking. When Rebecca asked me about doing their maternity images, she mentioned she would LOVE to have them under this tree. Welp, that was no brainer ;) I’m so honored to have done this for them, and can hardly wait to capture their daughter next month. Their joy is palpable now, just wait until they get to hold their firstborn…nothing like it!
Charging through over here during this crazy fun and busy season. Stopping in to share a few snapshots from sessions last week! Over the winter, I’ll get to blogging entire sessions because there is way too much joy wrapped up in these images, it’d be shame not to share ;)
In the mean time, I hope you’re soaking in all of this beautiful sunshine we are getting blessed with! xoox
Stopping in to share a snapshot from a session this past weekend. Clients tend to have a lot of questions about locations - but we can make sooo many different places look amazing! This backdrop is actually a large tree at their neighbors home, across the street. It’s perfect (as are their expressions :)!
Happy Fall, Y’all!! (I’ll be running on some form of caffeine over the next six weeks, but it’s hard not to love it!!)
If you scroll through this blog, you’ll quickly realize that I fall a bit short on posting full shoots. A lot of sneak peeks…and then more sneak peeks…because, let’s face it, it’s easy to get into the grind (head down, coffee in hand) with editing, shooting, speaking with clients, designing albums, posting to facebook/Instagram/all the things, bookkeeping, etc…and then forget to actually share an entire session. I’m 100% guilty of this, fully admit it! There’s also another side, in which, some families ask not to be broadcasted across the internet. Understandably so, and I want to respect my clients wishes.
Okay, now that my Tuesday rambling is over, I popped on to share some favorites from a session last month. (Don’t judge me, read above ;)
I first met Brett and Deb in college! Brett and my husband, Kyle, were roommates. I’m sure that I still have a debt to pay to Brett for being woken up early many mornings from Skype calls while I was in South Africa and Uganda. I still remember him poking his head on the screen making sure to say hello and check in :) (did I just date myself with SKYPE?!) Fast forward many years, they live in a town nearby, with two beautiful children! We have the privilege of seeing them a lot during football season (so last year we really missed their faces while we were in Ohio!). If it’s not obvious from the images, these two will brighten anyone’s day. They compliment one another in incredible ways, they encourage and love anyone in their path, and we are honored to call them our friends. So of course, when Deb asked about pictures, the answer was a resounding YES! Let’s do it!
Just a few from last night’s senior session. Can’t wait to share the rest!
