Maybe it's the fact that Henry and Jack are two of my favorite boy names, but I just adored working with this family. Down to earth, so kind and right in the middle of the fun (and challenging) years of raising their boys. We met at Molly and Jim's home, which provided a gorgeous backdrop for us - large lawn, long driveway, and this great little carriage house in the back that most would pay to be photographed in front of. I love that they will be able to look back at these images and picture what life was like with their 4 and 1 year old - playing, cuddles, jumping, running, laughing and a little bit of bribing when necessary ;) (which, by the way, is necessary 99.9% of the time when it comes to kiddos and photos.) Henry and Jack will never be able to deny how much their parents adore and love them, simply from looking at these photographs of a simple morning playing with their mom and dad.
Natalie and I met years ago, while both volunteering for a group that supported medical families and spouses in Ann Arbor. Fast forward a few years and children later, and we both end up living in Columbus, Ohio! One thing I love about medicine is the connections you make and keep - it's a bonding mechanism! She and Brian are the kindest, most down to earth people and I'm so thankful they have settled in UA so we could enjoy a fun year with them while we are here. We did a mini-session together at a park right around the corner from their new home, perfect location to represent their lives here as they settle long term in Columbus!
One to two may have been the best years to witness development! Seeing your child develop so many language skills, free will, and personality is incredible to witness (difficult, but so fun ; ) Grace would be no exception to that! She is strong willed and kindhearted, with a smile and pout to boot. She could certainly teach me some twirl and dancing skills too! What a pleasure it's been to look back from her newborn pictures to now - children are just way too fun to capture!
Here a few from her 2-year session in October - just after a storm blew through and the skies cleared for a half hour before rain filled the streets.
There were so many rain storms last week when I was shooting in Ann Arbor, but somehow we managed to only have to rearrange timing for one session! It was a miracle. The rest fell right before or after random popup storms, but of course, that meant a really pretty light to work with. It also meant really happy children who were very enticed by mud puddles!
I adore this image, it reminds me of a magazine cover. Meredith is a glowing mamma to her newest arrival, her daughter, Linden, and with her son, Eli. Complete with his favorite truck, on the front porch of their home. Perfection.
I'm not sure I'll be able to share all of the sessions from this past Fall before baby number 2 makes an appearance, but I'm sure going to try! Just too many amazing clients, so thankful :)!
