I could pour my heart into a post that is one million pages long, and yet, somehow, it would feel incomplete in describing the beauty it is to be given the gift of motherhood. I thank God each day for giving me my son. He is one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given, a blessing that no words can give justice to. I get to photograph new mothers each week, and there is something so good and true about watching a new mother interact with the precious baby that made her a mom.
I'm so thankful I can play a small part in that journey.
My four year old (going on 16) niece took this picture of Samuel and I today, hanging out on my mother's back porch after a delicious Sunday meal. It's from a phone and sure, the quality may be poor...but I couldn't love it more. It reminds me of a picture my mother has of her, holding me on the back porch of my childhood home.
By far, motherhood is the most difficult job I've ever had. By far, it's the BEST one too.
Happy Mother's Day to each of you who influence a child's life in a way that is irreplaceable. No matter how that child came into your life, you make a difference. You matter, GREATLY.
